Colour of the month for March: Olive Green
There are many shades of olive green, so I have selected just a few variations which I think work well in the home, creating a calm, yet inviting feel .... a place to go to.
Depending on the shades you choose for your home, you can opt for a more modern feel or a nostalgic one. I have gone with an eclectic mix of classics with modern, combining the two to create a new look.
Military green tones which have a yellow hue can be used as wall paint, as its rich depth creates a strong statement, adding character to a room. If you are fortunate enough to have a study or a library, this combination would be cosy and inviting, creating a space you wouldn't want to leave for too long!
Ornate wallpapers with classic repeat foliage patterns or modern whimsical bordered wallpapers with birds in flight add character and charm. Rich, deep, vibrant, olive green tiles can be embraced on bathroom or kitchen walls, adding shine and texture to surfaces.
Olive green plush velvet cushion covers and cashmere throws give a touch of luxury to a couch or your bed. For a more homespun feel, choose linens in jacquards or plain fabrics. Modern and vintage pieces of glassware, vases and crockery in various tones of olive green add accents of the colour throughout the home.
